Coleridge Way - Self-guided
Walk in the steps of the romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge who lived in Nether Stowey for 3 years from 1797 and there wrote his most famous poems The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and Kubla Khan. Together with fellow poet William Wordsworth, the poets enjoyed long walks in the area covered by the Coleridge Way.
The original section of the Coleridge Way runs from Nether Stowey to Portlock, a total of 36 miles and can be covered in 4 or 5 days. The newly extended route continues from Porlock to Lynmouth in North Devon, a further 15 miles.
The route goes through the Quantock Hills (AONB) and Exmoor National Park, with moorland and coastal paths, it is truly an amazing walk with plenty of variety. See route details: https://www.visit-exmoor.co.uk/coleridge-way/walking route/route-westwards
