Location

We are situated in the centre of the Medieval village of Dunster, which is part of Exmoor National Park. A fairy tale Castle dominates the view of the village, while the historic octagonal market building stands directly outside the hotel. Dunster village contains numerous individual shops and the UK’s largest Rohan store is located at the approach to the village.

Dunster Castle and Gardens, a National Trust property, is only a short walk along the High Street and it adjoins the working Dunster Watermill where you can buy locally milled flour. Other attractions in the village are St. Georges Church, a Dovecote, the 14th century Tithe Barn and a packhorse bridge.

The West Somerset Railway, England's longest heritage line, runs steam trains through 20 miles of coast and glorious Somerset countryside, stopping at beautifully preserved stations along the route. Dunster station is an ideal starting point for your Steam Train ride.
