Join us for a two-night Stargazing Break at the Yarn Market Hotel, set in the heart of Dunster on Exmoor, one of the UK’s best dark-sky locations. This special weekend combines expert-led astronomy talks, guided stargazing, and a visit to the Norman Lockyer Observatory.
The break includes two nights’ accommodation on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis, with all meals, talks, and lectures included. Numbers are limited to ensure a relaxed and engaging experience.

Guest speaker
The weekend is led by Terry Evans, Chairman of the Crewkerne & District Astronomical Society. Living close to Exmoor, he brings expert local knowledge of the area’s best stargazing sites and will be available throughout the weekend for questions and discussion.

Provisional programme highlights

Friday evening welcome drink, introductory talk, dinner, and optional stargazing

Saturday visit to Sidmouth and the Norman Lockyer Observatory, followed by a late return and warming refreshments

Sunday morning talk and a traditional Sunday roast to conclude the break
If weather conditions are not suitable for stargazing, alternative talks will be provided in the hotel.
Prices

£240 per person (double, twin, or single room)

Guests aged 20 or under receive a 50% discount when sharing a room (£120 per person)

Optional extra night: £65 per person (bed & breakfast), dinner available at £30 per person
A £50 per person deposit is required, with the balance payable by 1 January 2026.
