The weekend will explore some of Reynard Music's 300 titles for clarinet choir, with special attention to works by the late Gordon Lewin – Calle de las Flores, Grand Old Duke of York and Grass Roots. There will be opportunities in informal sessions for sampling the repertoire for clarinet trios, quartets and quintets. The Yarn Market Hotel offers en suite accommodation with excellent food in the fascinating mediaeval village of Dunster (the covered market building where cloths and yarns were sold is in front of the hotel). Playing sessions in the village hall 50 yards down the road. Grade 4+ probably needed for enjoyment.
Course starts 19.00 hrs Thursday with welcome reception and dinner, ends 16.30 Sunday Hotel rooms available from 15.00 on day of arrival
On Friday and Saturday, lunch to afternoon teatime will be left free to be a tourist or to play clarinet trios/quartets/quintets from my extensive library (when I hope to play along with different groups).
For non-playing partners and free periods the hotel is within easy reach of the delights of the medieval village of Dunster, the Exmoor National Park, and the north Somerset coast.
